Miss Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay has done it again y’all!!! I was honored to be invited to celebrate the 3rd season of the all female directorial team of Queen Sugar! I’m not sure about you guys, but I LOVE this show! Not only are you looking into the lives of three totally different people; but who are connected by a family business to keep them together, while trying to maintain their personal lives, is a show you must watch! Being able to celebrate another show with so much melanin on the screen, makes me feel good every time!
Rocking this bold color blocked dress, with my hair pulled back and my hubby at my side, the night was as calm and peaceful as the night air. It was such a breath taking space, filled with ceramic porcelain tables, tasty cocktails and of course the cast of Queen Sugar! The talented, Grammy Nominee Meshell Ndegeocello, eased our ears with her soulful singing of ” Dont Go Chasing Waterfalls”. There were so many media power players in the room, but I made sure that I was able to snap a photo with the Queen Unicorn herself, Ms. Tiffany Haddish!
She has such a beautiful and royal soul, as you see in the photo I tried to keep my excitement under control !
Once again, thank you Oprah for inviting me to the celebration of another one of your many accomplishments, I am so grateful to be apart of this ‘wrinkle in time’ ( get it? lol) Congratulations to the cast and crew of Queen Sugar, for continuously representing something bigger than just a character in a series. As a fellow fan, you inspire us to fight for what we want and keeping our family close by our side.
