Hey Guys I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer at the Sista-2 Sista Youth Summit 2016 this year. This is an event that is hosted once a year at St. Francis College in Brooklyn New York. The sole purpose of this event is devoted to uplifting and developing  young females . These females range from elementary school all the way to high school and this year over 250 young females come out to attend. During this summit we are able to address issues such as bullying, the perception of young women on reality television, drugs, sex, males, college, interpersonal skills with other females, jealously, hate, love, and what the overall growth of a young lady in today’s society should look like despite what the world says it should be. This Summit was extremely empowering because there is so much negativity surrounding young women and the issues that we deal with in todays society  that it is so refreshing to be in an environment that is filled with nothing but positivity and love. (Even if it is just for one day). I am so honored to have been able to be apart of this experience and I look to forward to next year as well as being involved in other events along the same guidelines.
